Imagine a Gamescom and nobody goes to it. Thanks a lot, Corona! But just because the trade fair in Cologne doesn't open its doors this year it doesn't mean there won't be a Gamescom 2020. We will tell you what you can expect at the Gamescom Live Opening Night 2020.

We all wish we could stroll around the trade fair stands, stand in line for hours to see a trailer for the new Call of Duty or play Cyberpunk 2077 - but unfortunately not this year. The Gamescom 2020 is taking place online and starts tomorrow, Thursday, with the Gamescom Opening Night Live 2020.

Gamescom Live Opening Night 2020

As in the previous years, "The Game Awards" host Geoff Keighley will lead us through the opening show, called Gamescom Live Opening Night 2020. Tor the approximately a two-hour show, the presenter has a whopping 38 games from 18 different publishers - including some world premieres.

Linkin Park singer Mike Shinoda composed the intro song this year - so the Gamescom Opening will make a big splash. But what new games can we expect to see this year?

As we already know, Keighley will unveil Fall Guys Season 2 during the show - that's very nice, but it gets even better. On Twitter, the host has already unveiled several premieres.

The PlayStation 5 game Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will be shown for the first time as part of a gameplay demo. So for the first time, we will be able to enjoy real PS5 gameplay.

There will also be new information and game scenes from Call of Duty Black Ops - Cold War, but that's not all.

World of Warcraft: Shadowlands & Afterlives

The upcoming expansion World of Warcraft: Shadowlands will be an important part of Gamescom Opening Night with a new animation series World of Warcraft: Afterlives.

Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond

Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond is the latest installment in the series, developed by Apex Legends creator Respawn Entertainment. The game is scheduled for release for the Oculus VR systems during the 2020 Christmas season. There will be a new story trailer during Gamescom Opening Night.

Star Wars: Squadrons

Star Wars: Squadrons, which will be released already in October, will have a new trailer and fresh gameplay at ONL 2020.

Destiny 2: Beyond Light

The new expansion for Bungies Free2Play-Loot-Shooter Destiny 2 will be unveiled in the show with a brand-new trailer.
