Death Stranding was the surprise game of the year when it was released: Different, amazing, weird, unique – it was all of those things. Unsurprisingly, the Hideo Kojima game now seems to be getting a sequel: Death Stranding 2 is in development.

You either loved or hated Death Stranding. You either thought it was a walking simulator or a unique take on traversal. You either loved that it reminded you of your teenage-days delivery jobs or hated the fact that you had to F-ing balance Pizza Hut boxes while climbing ladders as a gameplay mechanic. Me, personally, I don't know where I stand with the game. It's unique, like pickles on peanut butter... there's something about it.

Now, Norman Reedus (or Daryl from the Walking Dead, as his friends call him), confirmed that Death Stranding 2 is in the works.

Death Stranding 2 Is In Development

In an interview with the Brazilian AdoroCinema, Reedus dropped this juicy tidbit:

I think we’re doing a second Death Stranding. [The game] is in negotiations right now. So… Yay!

If your Portuguese is any good, you can read the actual IGN news here. Now it is important to note that a Death Stranding: Director's Cut is also in the making, but Reedus specifically calling it a second Death Stranding, makes it unlikely that he was referring to that. Also, Hideo Kojima took to Twitter to share some ideas for the Death Stranding universe, but, again, this could also be related to his upcoming Director's Cut:

Yes, I'm also weirded out by the baby, but that's what Death Stranding is all about: Being weird. I love that Hideo Kojima is possibly working on a sequel, but it is also a bitter reminder that we are living in a world where Hideo is no longer working on Metal Gear Solid. Sad times.

If you are not familiar with Death Stranding at all or just want to see what the Director's Cut will look like, feast your eyes on this beautiful trailer for the upcoming version:
