Spider-Man 2 once again features a lot of different suits for Peter Parker and Miles Morales, which is a trademark of Insomniac’s Spider-Man games. Unlocking new suits and trying out new looks for the two neighborhood heroes is once again one of the most enjoyable parts of this game, just as it was for its predecessors.

How To Unlock & Change Suits In Spider-Man 2

You first need to unlock the suits menu and ability to change between the many suits in Spider-Man 2, as you can’t do that right from the get-go. However, the menu is unlocked fairly early into the game after completing the third main mission in the game, called Show Me New York.In this mission, players control Peter and are tasked with finding a bag of clothes. Once you interact with the bag, the Suits menu unlocks. To get to it, open the menu by clicking on the touchpad, then navigate to the “Suits” tab with R1 or L1. Here you can unlock new suits and change which suit you want to wear. You’ll need to craft the suits you desire with City Tokens and Parts, which you unlock through completing missions and side activities. Once a suit can be crafted, which is indicated by the question mark being replaced with an image, select your suit of choice and hold X to craft it.

You can upgrade most suits to unlock different color options or “styles” for them. This is a neat new feature, which was missing from Insomniac’s previous Spider-Man games. Unlocking new styles will once again require parts and tokens. Each suit usually offers three new coloring options upon upgrading it, which really adds a new layer to the different outfit options in Spider-Man 2.

I personally really enjoyed this addition and immediately got into. Peter’s advanced suit 2.0 for example has some really neat styles, one of which reminded me of my beloved Toby Maguire Spidey. This is a really cool new feature, so make sure to try it out!
