Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is easily the best game-streaming out there. While it's already a good deal on its own, with a trick, you can get Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for just $1.
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate offers you a free trial month for just $1. While that sounds like a good deal, you should not take it. That $1 can be used to upgrade Xbox Live Gold for up to three years, meaning that, without any extra costs, you can turn your Xbox Live Gold membership into an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership. How you do it is simple, and it is all done in a couple of steps:
How to Get Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for $1
- Buy Xbox Live Gold
- Activate your Xbox Live Gold Membership
- Use the Game Pass Ultimate for $1 deal and watch your entire Xbox Live Gold membership duration be transformed into an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership
You will get a message telling you that you will be charged after x-months – depending on how long your Xbox Live Gold membership still runs for.
If you already have Xbox Live Gold, it’s even simpler: Simply turn your running Xbox Live Gold membership into a Game Pass membership for a mere dollar.
The maximum duration you can do this for is three years – 36 months – and there is one thing you need to look out for: If you go beyond the 36 months, you won't be able to transform your Xbox Live Gold membership. Now the problem with this is that, if you were to buy three 1-year Xbox Live Gold memberships, you’d get offered three free months for turning on recurring billing. Don’t do that. Turn recurring billing off to stay at 36 months.
If you buy two 1-year memberships, feel free to turn on recurring billing and reap the free months, because you’ll stay well under 36 months.
That’s really all there is to it. Overall, this deal will price Game Pass at $5 per month rather than $15. Remember that you don’t need an Xbox to get Xbox Live Gold, either. For example, I’ve been using Game Pass for a while and I don’t have any Xbox consoles – I use it on my phone, my tablet, and my laptop.
How many months you choose to get Game Pass Ultimate for is up to you, but do make sure that you buy the right bundles for monthly Xbox Live Gold subscriptions packages, to save as much money as possible. Several outlets often run deals on Xbox Live Gold, so you might even get away with less than $181 for three years of Game Pass Ultimate and Xbox Live Gold.
If you already have Game Pass Ultimate, you’ll have to wait until it runs out and start a new membership. It will still transform your Xbox Live Gold months into Game Pass months, but you’ll have to pay a full $15 one-month payment, since you won’t be eligible for the $1 trial anymore.
Also, if you have Microsoft Reward points, you can use them to stock up your Xbox Live Gold membership to 36 months – or however many months you want – before upgrading to Game Pass Ultimate.
