An alleged leak stating that GTA 6 would already be available for pre-order in December caused a lot of excitement among gamers.
GTA 6 will finally get its first trailer in December and everyone is rightfully very excitement. The hype became even bigger when a new leak popped up, claiming that players would already be available to pre-order the game in the same month. However, the validity of this leak has quickly been put into question.
GTA 6 Pre-Order Leak Apparently Debunked
A screenshot made the rounds online, claiming to show a conversation with the customer support of British retailer Argos. In the screenshot, you can see an employee claiming that “Grand Theft Auto VI for the Xbox series x/s [sic] and the PlayStation 5 will be available to pre-order on December 12 2023”. How exciting!
However, this claim was quickly investigated and now seems to have been debunked. Aggregator page Rockstar Universe on X/Twitter looked into this story and checked again with Argos Support. This resulted in the support saying that "officially it is not announced" yet, meaning that the original pictures seems to be a fake.

So all the excitement seems to have been for nought. Of course, the second message could be factually wrong, or an employee who got wise on what’s going on and was aware enough, not to reveal information as sensitive as this. Either way, anyone who got excited for a potential GTA 6 pre-order should cool it for now, until it will be officially confirmed.
