"The game continues. 9.27.24": That's what the official pages of 'Lionsgate' and 'Saw' posted on Instagram. So, we can for sure expect the 11th Saw movie on December 27 in 2024, not even a year after Saw X made its debut.

Saw XI: What We Can Expect

Breaking the mold in a genre popular for its endless sequels, Saw XI is officially in the works. Following the success of Saw X in 2023, which brought the series back to its roots, the franchise is getting another part that promises to go even further.

Saw X, set between the events of Saw I and Saw II, distanced itself from the over-the-top elements that plagued movies like Saw 3D , opting instead for a grounded thriller that centered on the character of John Kramer. This approach, which made John a more relatable figure rather than a mere trap-creating legend, paid off.

Now, with Saw XI in development, the franchise is venturing even deeper into the double-digits, keeping fans on the edge of their seats.

Probably Returning Cast For Saw XI

At the end of Saw X, during the credits, there was a little teaser that gave us a clue about who might be in the spotlight for the next Saw movie. It's highly likely that Tobin Bell will come back to play John Kramer, also known as Jigsaw, whether it's through flashbacks or if the story is set before his character's death.

Costas Mandylor, who played one of Jigsaw's apprentices named Mark Hoffman, and Shawnee Smith, who portrayed Amanda, were back in Saw X. So, it's totally possible that both of them might make a return in Saw XI. This hints at some exciting twists and turns in the next installment!

What Could The Story Look Like?

The upcoming Saw movie might follow a similar path as Saw X, with the story taking place earlier in the franchise's timeline. But there's also a chance that Saw XI could dive into a direct sequel territory, picking up the story after the events of Spiral . In this scenario, John Kramer would be gone, and the plot would revolve around one or more of his apprentices, which could be a setup hinted at in the post-credits scene of Saw X.

However, it seems more likely that Saw XI will continue the trend of being a prequel-like addition to the series, though the specific time frame it will delve into remains shrouded in mystery. One thing that's a sure bet is that, when Jigsaw reemerges, the traps he sets in Saw XI will once again up the ante, delivering even more suspense and danger than anything viewers have witnessed before. Brace yourselves for some heart-pounding scenes!
