Xbox has just announced a large batch of new titles coming to the Game Pass in December. While it looked dry for a while, December now could be one of the most impressive months in terms of new games.

Games Being Added To Xbox Game Pass In December
We have a ton of great games coming to Xbox Game Pass in December, including one surprising shadow drop! Here are all the games:
Remnant: From The Ashes & Remnant 2 – Cloud, Console & PC ($39.99 & $49.99 RRP / 78 & 80 Metacritic Score)
The best thing about the new games in Xbox Game Pass for December is not that Remnant and Remnant 2 are joining the service, it's that they're already available. Microsoft shadow-dropped this exciting addition out of nowhere, making every Game Pass subscriber more than happy.
You get both games, but you should definitely go for the sequel from this year. Both games take Souls-like formulas and mix them with loot-based third-person shooter mechanics. So if you ever played Dark Souls but wished it was more like Destiny, definitely check out Remnant 2.
If you're on PC and struggle with running Remnant 2, the first game Remnant: From the Ashes is almost as good and not as demanding.
SteamWorld Build – Cloud, Console, and PC ($29.99 RRP / 73 Metacritic Score)
SteamWorld Build will launch on Game Pass on December 1, and quite impressively for a city builder, it's coming to console. The game was fairly well-received by critics who received preview copies, although a few complained that it became repetitive more quickly than they had hoped.

Rise of the Tomb Raider is the second part of the recent reboot trilogy surrounding Lara Craft and her tomb raiding adventures. This is probably the best and most-acclaimed game of the free, so it's really nice that it's joining Game Pass on December 5.
While The Iron’s Hot – Cloud, Console, and PC (RRP & Metacritic Score TBC)
Talk about striking while the iron's hot, this charming indie game is a Day One release for Game Pass on December 5! Play as a blacksmith trying to restore a ruined village and become a master craftsman. Unlike in similar games, like Moonlighter or Stardew Valley, you have no combat in While The Iron's Hot and instead are focused on gathering materials, crafting increasingly better equipment and talking with your fellow villagers to experience the story surrounding the mysterious island of Ellian.
Clone Drone in the Danger Zone – Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S ($19.99 RRP / 82 Metacritic Score)
Another fun release on December 5 is Clone Drone in the Danger Zone! Try saying that three times in a row... anyway. This is a really neat and creative action game, where the voxel physics allow for very detailed dismemberment without being in any way violent. Cute dismemberment, so to say. Oh, and there's space combat? What a cool game, definitely check it out.
World War Z: Aftermath – Cloud, Console, and PC ($29.99 RRP / 80 Metacritic Score)
Also on December 5, players get to enjoy the awesome co-op shooter World War Z: Aftermath. The game is based on the very successful zombie franchise and plops a very good version of the familiar Left 4 Dead formula onto it. But this time it's in third-person and there are even more zombies. What's not to love?
Goat Simulator 3 – Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S ($29.99 RRP / 68 Metacritic Score)
The GOAT is back in Goat Simulator 3! Yes, there was never a Goat Simulator 2 and yes that joke is still funny. What's unfortunately not quite as funny is the rest of the game, which was a bit of a disappointment after the legendary first game. Still, if you're done for some supremely silly shenanigans, check this out on December 7.
Against the Storm – PC ($29.99 RRP / Metacritic Score TBC)
This game is actually out now in Early Access and can be bought on Steam already, but it's coming to Xbox Game Pass when the full game launches on December 8. The full release reviews haven't been published yet, but the Steam community who have played Early Access are "Overwhelmingly Positive" about it. Here is the trailer:
Tin Hearts – Cloud, Console, and PC ($29.99 RRP / 66 Metacritic Score)
This is a really cute puzzle game, where the player leads an army of tin soldiers through a very posh house to solve puzzles and enjoy some shenanigans. While the cute idea doesn't quite work out as well as it sounds on paper, it's still worth a look if you're into unusual puzzle games. Tin Hearts joins Game Pass on December 12.
Far Cry 6 – Cloud, Console, and PC ($59.99 RRP / 73 Metacritic Score)
Last, but definitely not least; Far Cry 6 is coming to Game Pass on December 14. The latest installment in Ubisoft's long-running FPS open-world series stars Giancarlo Esposito and is set on Yara, a fictional island inspired by Cuba.
If you're into Ubisoft's take on open-world games, Far Cry 6 is well worth your time. While these games have become a bit tired, they're always worth checking out, especially on Game Pass.
What Games Are Being Removed From The Game Pass In December?
Xbox has announced that four games will leave Game Pass on December 15:
- Chained Echoes (Cloud, Console, and PC)
- Opus Magnum (PC)
- Potion Craft: Alchemist Simulator (Cloud, Console, and PC)
- Rubber Bandits (Cloud, Console, and PC)
