The Best Horror Movies In 2024

Lisa Frankenstein

Lisa Frankenstein is a fun horror romance, perfectly set on February 9, right around the corner of Valentine's Day. In this movie, the girl Lisa reanimates a beautiful Victorian corps during a storm (by mistake, of course).

For the main cast, you can expect Kathryn Newton as the main protagonist Lisa, Liza Soberano and Jenna Davis, both as school girls, probably bullies of Lisa.

Nosferatu (2024)

Yeah, that's right. After a proud 100 years, "Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror " is getting a new film adaption in 2024. While we didn't get a trailer for the new movie yet, we still have some info for you. The gothic horror film is getting directed by Robert Eggers.

Robert Eggers is known for his unsettling vibes that he pulls off in other horror movies, like "The Witch ", for example. Therefore, he is going to be the perfect director for this film, since the original one worked with lots of psychological horror rather than jump scares.

Swedish actor Bill Skarsgård, known for portraying Pennywise in the horror films "It " and "It Chapter Two ", is gonna replace Max Schreck for the role of Nosferatu aka Count Orlok. And to be honest, we couldn't think of anything else, to pull off the same masterful performance Max Schreck did 100 years ago. We're certain, he'll do a great job.

Other actors, who were confirmed being in the cast are Nicholas Hoult, Lily-Rose Depp, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Emma Corrin and Willem Dafoe.

The movie is set to be released on Christmas on December 25 watchable in theaters.

Stopmotion

In this indie horror movie produced by IFC Films, we'll discover the mind of the stop-motion animator Ella Blake, played by actress Aisling Franciosi.

As she struggles with the loss of her mother, her own creations for a stop-motion movie start to haunt her. With time, reality and imagination will start to blend into each other as the mental decay of Ella Blakes unrolls.

"Stopmotion" is going to be released on February 23. For more deets about other members of the cast and more info about the plot, click here!

Night Swim

Have you always preferred the pool over the sea on vacation, because you are scared of the depths or don't like the thought of living creatures being beneath you? Well, after watching this movie, you definitely won't enter a pool for the next couple of months as well.

Night Swim is James Wan's next horror movie, which will probably include a bunch of jump scares. Family Waller moves in a new home and in their garden? Who would've thought, there is a pool, which wasn't used for 15 years. In connection with this pool, the family gets terrorized by supernatural powers.

The main cast with Wyatt Russel, Kerry Condon, Amelie Hoeferle and Gavin Warren are playing the family members of the Wallers.

The First Omen

In this horror movie with some religious context, such as "The Nun ", a young American woman is sent to Rome to begin a life of service to the Church, but encounters a darkness that leads her to question her faith and uncovers a terrifying conspiracy.

You can expect Nell Tiger Free as the protagonist of this movie, as well as Bill Nighy, Ralph Inseon and Charles Dance as the main cast.

The release date is set on April 5, only in theaters.

Tarot

Never use someone else's tarot deck! This is the only rule you should keep in mind for your tarot readings. But a bunch of friends didn't care. In this horror movie, the friend group picks up a mysterious, unknown tarot deck with drastic consequences. Confronted with their fate, they now have to escape the future the cards prophesized for them.

This slasher movie got no official release date yet. However, rumors has it that it's supposed to be on Valentine's Day on February 14. How romantic!

Just like in the first part, we can expect tons of bloody kills. Sadly, we neither have any info about the plot, nor a trailer yet. So, we are doubting that the release date is going to be that early.

Returning from the first movie, you can be excited for Ryan Oliva as Winnie-The-Pooh and Scott Chambers as Christopher Robin. As a new addition, Tallulah Evans is going to be part of the main cast, who is known from the series "White Lines".

Mickey's Mouse Trap

First Winnie-the-Pooh and now Mickey Mouse?! Oh boy, seems like all our childhood favorites are turning into a nightmare. On Alex's 21 birthday, she and her friends are stuck in an amusement park with a cold-blooded killer disguised as Mickey Mouse.

Just like "Winnie-The-Pooh Blood and Honey", this horror movie is also going to be part of the slasher genre. While we don't have an exact release date yet, we still know that "Mickey's Mouse Trap" is going to be released in March 2024.

Abigail

When a group of criminals kidnaps the ballerina daughter of a powerful figure of the underworld, they retreat to a secluded mansion, unaware that they are locked up there with a little vampire girl. Well, well, how the tables turn – hunters becoming the hunted.

In this horror movie with a small touch of humor, Alisha Weir is going to slip into the role of Abigail. As kidnappers trapped together with the monster, Kevin Durand, Kathryn Newton, Dan Steves, Angus Cloud, Giancarlo Esposito and William Catlett can be expected. Besides these actors, the name of Melissa Barrera's role also dropped: Joey.

The movie is going to be released on April 19.

Terrifier 3

In Damien Leone's next part of the Terrifier-series , Art the Clown is once again ready to unleash some chaos on the unsuspecting residents of Miles County as they peacefully drift off to sleep on Christmas Eve.

And who would've thought, just like "Nosferatu," "Terrifier 3" is going to be watchable in theaters on December 25 on Christmas Day.

Returning from other Terrifier movies, we can assure you that Lauren LaVera as Sienna, Samantha Scaffidi as Victoria Heyes and of course David Howard Thornton as Art the Clown are making their comeback.

A Quiet Place: Day one (Part 3)

Sadly, we don't have any info about the plot in the third part of the horror and science fiction movie. However, director John Krasinski, known for the "A Quiet Place " movies, already confirmed the third installment is coming.

Good news for fans as several projects are in the works, including a spin-off set for release in September 2023. Michael Sarnoski, director of "Pig ," will helm the spin-off, expected in 2025. Meanwhile, "A Quiet Place 3," titled "A Quiet Place: Day One," with a screenplay by Sarnoski, is set to release on June 28, 2024. Fingers crossed for the scheduled dates!
