7 Best Characters in Terminator Movies

7. Miles Dyson

Miles Dyson may have built the tech that led to Skynet, but he’s no villain. Once he learns the truth, he doesn’t hesitate – he risks everything to help stop the apocalypse he unknowingly helped set in motion. His sacrifice adds rare depth and tragedy to the franchise. | © TriStar Pictures

6. Kyle Reese

Kyle Reese was the original protector – gritty, loyal, and willing to risk everything for Sarah. He may be overshadowed by the T-800 in later films, but Kyle brought heart and urgency to the franchise from the start. His story still echoes through the series, even when he's not on screen. | © Orion Pictures

5. Dani Ramos

Dani Ramos starts as an ordinary woman until she learns she’s humanity’s future leader. Dark Fate flips the script by putting her, not her future child, at the center of the story. Watching her rise and take command proves she’s more than ready for the role. | © Paramount Pictures

4. Grace Harper

Grace is a fierce, no-nonsense protector with a human heart and a cybernetic edge. She’s not just fighting for the future, she’s fighting for someone she knows and believes in. Tough, loyal, and emotionally grounded, Grace earns her place among the franchise’s best. | © Paramount Pictures

3. John Connor

John Connor carries the fate of humanity, but starts as just a rebellious teen. Watching him grow from teaching a Terminator to high-five leading the resistance shows how real and human he is. He’s not perfect, but that’s exactly why he works. | © Orion Pictures

2. T-800

The T-800 in T2 flipped the script, turning the terrifying killer from the first film into a stoic, shotgun-wielding protector. His bond with young John is unexpectedly touching, even funny at times, showing flashes of humanity beneath the metal. When he says, “I know now why you cry,” it lands like a punch to the gut. | © Orion Pictures

1. Sarah Connor

Sarah Connor didn’t start out a warrior, but she sure became one. From a terrified waitress to a battle-hardened protector of the future, her evolution is the emotional core of the franchise. Whether she’s taking down a T-800 or grieving her son, Sarah never stops fighting. | © Orion Pictures
