Not one of the most memorable fights, but exciting enough to make it on this list. The design of the Rod Reiss titan is definitely creative and the spectacle is fun. Eren gets to blow himself up and Historia gets to shine. We love a good Historia moment!
The second and last time, Eren and Annie fight, was also the first time we really saw two titanshifters go all out against each other. Annie's calm and collected fighting style pitted against Eren's blind rage is a sight to behold. Without any regard for casualties, they almost destroy half of Stohess District. Awesome stuff!
Who wouldn't expect the last altercation of the finale to be as wild as this one. MAPPA Studio really had everyone at the edge of their seat. I genuinely didn't think everyone would survive this. The idea, to make our characters fight ancient versions of the titanshifters we already know, was great. All in all, an exciting final fight with high stakes and awesome action.
A rather short one, but one of my favorites in the series. I just love the suspense and the stakes of this fight. If everything doesn't go perfectly, humanity is doomed. Armin's sacrifice and his "last" words had me on the verge of tears, and Eren breaking the silence with his "Got you!", finally bringing the titan down, ends the scene so elegantly.
The harrowing second appearance of the female titan takes the number six spot on this list. The Levi squad was hyped up to be made up of these elite soldiers, who have slain countless titans and were practically invincible. They indeed did put up a good fight, but, Attack on Titan isn't this kind of show. We could only watch in horror, how Annie mowed down almost the whole squad in a matter of seconds. A scary display of what titanshifters are capable of in the early part of the series.
The joy I felt in this scene! After all the beast titan had done to our characters, I really needed this. Levi takes the matter into his own hands and slices the big monkey up nicely. I have nothing more to say, easy top 5.
If we were only ranking these fights in terms of animation and action, this would be number one. Levi's animations are so slick and flow so well. It's also the first time we see our heroes fighting against other humans. The only thing it lacked, were the personal stakes and drama, because at this point we knew nothing about Levi's and Kenny's relationship.
The first time we see Eren in action after the four-year time skip. A harrowing display of his abilities and ruthlessness. He slaughters civilians and uses the jaw titan as a nutcracker. We knew Attack on Titan was a very dark show, but I didn't expect Eren to turn out as kind of a villain here. The scouts joining in and seeing all the new character designs by MAPPA had me hyped as well, especially Jean's new older look. A deserving spot for a great fight.
I wanted to rank this fight as number one, because in my opinion, this fight has everything. The stakes are high, because the march of the colossal titans will wipe out everything, if our heroes don't succeed here. It's got insane visuals, namely Mikasa's rampage, the armored and the female titan, Falco's first transformation and most importantly Floch's last stand. But the thing that did it for me was the drama. Former friends pitted against each other and forced to fight for their lives. The scene, where Connie has to kill Daz and Samuel, is one of the most heart-wrenching scenes I have ever seen.
This had to be number one. It's not even a fight really, it's more of a slaughter. But Erwin's speech... is the hypest thing in the entirety of Attack on Titan. You can watch it in any language and you will still get chills. The charge on the beast titan is so tragic and so hopeless. Everyone knew they were going to die. That sinking feeling you get from watching, makes this my favorite scene from my favorite anime.
