The reimagining of the 2005 classic Mr. & Mrs. Smith that saw Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie as John and Jane in a similar situation premieres in February on Prime Video.

After being delayed a little bit, the new Mr. & Mrs. Smith come to the Prime on February 2, completely ready to binge through. With all eight episodes releasing at once, there's nothing stopping you from grabbing your own weight in popcorn and throwing yourself on the couch for the weekend.

Granted that the original movie is nearly 20 years old, I'm assuming most people know the basics of the spy couple – Prime Video takes a different approach, though. While the OG Smiths played by Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were spies for competing agencies and didn't know the other's secret jobs, the new Smiths know what they are in for.
In Prime Video's version of Mr. & Mrs. Smith, John and Jane do know from the start who they are and work together. The kicker? Their set-up pretend marriage is their gateway to actual feelings for each other. Feelings and a job as a spy can make for some tension for sure.
Each episode will see them in a new mission and a new milestone in their relationship, or, as per official synopsis: "When the cracks [in their relationship] begin to show through, they must fight to stay together. Because in this marriage, divorce is not an option."

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie surely left some big shoes to fill, but the new cast seems up to the challenge: Jane and John Smith will be played by Maya Erskine and Donald Glover. The latter also served as co-creator of the show.
The cast also includes Michaela Coel, Beverly Glover (as John's mother, obviously!), Ron Perlman, Parker Posey, Sharon Horgan, Wagner Moura, John Turturro and Paul Dano. Fun fact: at the time of writing, Dano's role is simply listed as "Hot Neighbor." What more would you possibly need to know about the character?
