Infinity Ward patched up Modern Warfare with an update that primarily meddles with the Call of Duty playlist, but also touches upon some bugs that have plagued the game, as well as a few weapon alterations.

Call of Duty playlist changes

Well, for starters, we have a brand new game mode – Deathmatch Domination. Ok, "brand new" might be a stretch. This mashup of Team Deathmatch and Domination is literally that – a combination of both modes’ components, aka getting kills and hold control points.

Another modified mode introduced here is Gunfight Custom. It allows you to customize your Gunfight. Unbelievable, I know, but you will actually have the opportunity to pick your inventory instead of relying on randomness of picking up weapons from the ground.

The rest of the Call of Duty playlist changes include Shipment 24/7’s return at the expense of Shoot the Ship, Winter Docks’ removal from the game and Capture the Flag’s transfer into the Quick-Play Filter.

Other changes to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare

A couple of fan-favorite guns got nerfed slightly. The MP5 and the M4’s headshot effectiveness was reduced, with the M4 assault rifle also receiving a small range decrease.

The M13 is on the other end of the spectrum. It got both its range limit and headshot capabilities increased, and the recoil decreased. Happy birthday to you, M13!

The new Crossbow enjoyed its helicopter-destroying magic for about a week as the update nerfed it, too. After its introduction in the major update, it felt a little bit… overpowered, being able to take down a Support Helo with three bolts. Well, anarchy is no more and you now need twice as many hits to take down the flying bastard.

Finally, IW took care of a couple of minor bugs and inconveniences. Shipment was the center of attention there - the spawning on it, to be even more precise. Instant death and spawn traps have supposedly been dealt with, the spawning positions across all modes have been adjusted, and Domination is getting an entirely new spawn logic.
