League of Legends is in full swing at the moment, with LEC & LCS beginning on June 12, but that doesn't mean they can be lazy with the patch notes! Patch 10.12 is up, and we need to discuss these upcoming changes, so let's dive right in.

You can expect the elusive High Noon Senna and High Noon Irelia to arrive for Patch 10.12 with Hextech Nocturne joining the duo, too.

Notable buffs

Patch 10.12 saw a handful of champions that were buffed which include:

  • Akali
  • Brand
  • Senna
  • Viktor
  • Volibear
  • Xayah
"ADC Senna’s been in a weak spot since her last set of changes in 10.6, so we’re giving her more chances to redeem more benefits from farming."

Out of all of these, Senna, Brand, and Volibear are a must pick for Patch 10.12. Let's begin with Senna, who, we're pretty sure didn't need another buff (but we welcome the bug fixes) has had a massive buff to her passive, Absolution, that instead of having a 1.67% chance of getting mist wraith on minion kills, it has now been increased to 8.33%. This means more damage. You NEED to pick her for Patch 10.12.

Brand, however, has seen some additional mana restoration towards his passive, Blaze, that would usually get 6-18 (levels 1-18), now restores 20-40 (levels 1-18). This is great for Brand, who suffered from low mana anyway, so being able to deal out more damage is never a bad idea.

EarlyGame tip: Pick him as a Support now. His increased mana recovery means more raw damage for the bottom lane.

Volibear has seen some much-needed quality of life fixes since his complete rework release not too long ago. His kit overall has been fine-tuned for Patch 10.12, fixing bugs, and even giving him better mana growth (from 40 to 50) and health growth (from 85 to 90). The biggest changes to his abilities are his R, Stormbringer, that:

  • Increases turret disable duration - 2/4/6 seconds to 3/4/5 seconds.
  • Larger ult radius: 250 to 300.
  • Base damage increased: 250/475/700 to 300/500/700.

These changes are welcome for Volibear, who felt very underwhelming on release. Even our best Volibear guide couldn't help him, but it can now!

"Empowering Viktor’s mid-range dueling so that he doesn’t have to solely rely on his E to be effective"

A short, but needed change to Viktor and his Q ability, Siphon Power, that now gives increased ability power from 0.55 ability power to 0.6 ability power, and an increase in his shield ratio that will be a massive help to his dueling potential in the middle lane.

Notable nerfs

Riot Games has nerfed a few champions for Patch 10.11 who include:

  • Cassiopeia
  • Fiddlesticks
  • Trundle
  • Varus
  • Yasuo
"Fiddlesticks reaped more benefits than we’d intended with our last set of buffs, so we’re trimming down his power around minion waves while taking care not to scare him off top lane."

Fiddlesticks has finally been caught by Riot Games! This bundle of hay had his numbers tuned and tweaked in previous patches but has now seen a reduction in his W, Bountiful Harvest, reducing its overall damage reduction to minions by 10%, which should hopefully reduce the number of times he can roam around Summoner's Rift after clearing a wave of minions.

Trundle is still causing problems, especially in competitive play. We quickly learned what was going on in the League of Legends competitive play. The trends over the last few weeks have been building Trundle with heavy mobility, using his W, Frozen Domain, for extra movement speed, and before you know it you're at the top lane in less than 10 seconds.

Because of this, his W, Frozen Domain, has been reduced from 30/35/40/45/50% to 20/28/36/44/52%, which should reduce his EarlyGame assertive ganks. Some changes have been made to his health, mana, and mana regen, but they're so tiny it's not worth talking about... Ok fine, we know you love your stats:

  • Health 616.28 to 616.
  • Mana 281.6 to 281.
  • Mana regen 7.508 to 7.5.
