The North American leg of ESL Pro League Season 11 is underway and Team Liquid are off to a good start. TL destroyed Made in Brazil in the first fixture of the NA group, erasing any positive impressions the Brazilians might have made during their group-winning Flashpoint Season 1 phase one campaign.

Mibr couldn’t handle both fronts

Made in Brazil tried to take on more than they can chew. The team was originally not supposed to play in the Pro League but entered anyway citing the ESL Pro Tour ranking system and the need for points as the catalyst for their decision.

While mibr did well in the other league format – Flashpoint, things did not go so smooth in their ESL Pro League Season 11 opener. Granted, Liquid are much better than any team in Flashpoint, but we still expected the match to at least be competitive. What we got is floor-mopping – 16-7; 16-2 and it’s back to Flashpoint for the South American squad.

Perhaps changing the coach in the middle of Flashpoint and right before the start of ESL Pro League would not turn out to be a genius decision after all. Absolutely no one saw that coming.

There were a couple more games played on the first day of Season 11. 100 Thieves got by Swole Patrol 2-1 in North America while FaZe Clan opened up play in Europe’s third and final group with a 2-0 victory over Tyloo.

The schedule there is constructed in such a way that the definitely European Tyloo squad will be playing in the first three games of Group C. Their next challenge comes later today in the form of OG. FaZe will return to the server for a titan clash versus mousesports.

Today’s NA fixtures include Team Liquid – Swole Patrol and Evil Geniuses – 100 Thieves.
