Who is Draven According to LoL Lore?

Draven grew up in the streets alongside his brother Darius when their town was overrun by Noxus. There, they met captain Cyrus, who was impressed with his and Darius’ fighting spirit. The two brothers joined the Noxian army and while Darius flourished and rose the ranks, Draven soon became bored.

Draven wanted more, he wanted something with a bigger reward. He joined the warbands in Ionia, during the Ionian occupation, but recognition did not come his way then either. The only thing he managed was to land a contract in the reckoning pits.

The reckoning pits had long been a means to punish criminals and settle disputes between noble houses. Draven wanted to relish in the crowd and the riches he would receive. Due to the war, though, the interest in the reckoning pits dwindled and Draven fell into a slump, drinking himself into oblivion.

That was when Jericho Swain found him. He wanted to bring glory to Noxus once more, but to do so, he would have to stage a coup and take down the current grand general – Boram Darkwill. He needed Draven by his side for it to work.

The coup was a success and Draven stood alongside Swain, relishing in the cheers of the crowd. But not everyone accepted this coup. Those who stood against Swain were punished to find death in the arena.

One man sentenced tried to escape. Draven saw this, jumped from his high balcony and used his dual axes to cut him down in an instant. Silence – then cheers erupted. Draven relished in the applause. This is what he’d been waiting for, this is the reward he’s always wanted.

This turned routine bouts into spectacles. From that moment on, Draven inserted himself into fights, cutting down other reckoners with ease, bathing in the cheers of the crowd.

It was then that a promoter, sick and tired of his reckoners being killed after having spent coin on housing and feeding them, decided to approach Draven with a new idea to spark a new era of reckoners in the reckoning pits.

The drama of the pits should be combined with Draven’s showmanship. Each fighter got a crafted backstory, fights turning into jousts – blood and gore included, this was still Noxus, after all – but these fights didn’t always end in death.

Reckoners became legends, gained fans, and Draven was the most well-known amongst them all, gaining notoriety throughout Noxus. But Draven wanted more, his eyes set on the rest of Runeterra. One day the whole world would know his name.

Who is Draven’s Brother According to LoL Lore?

As mentioned above, Draven is the younger brother of Darius. The two grew up in Basilich in the streets, fighting against anyone who came in their way, no matter how big or how much older they were – his champion lore even states that had Darius not been there, then Draven might have died in the streets.

When Noxus invaded, the street rat brothers got a chance to make something of themselves. In Noxus, anyone could climb the ranks, it didn’t matter if you weren’t of noble birth, which is why the brothers joined the Noxian warbands.

Is Draven Strong According to LoL Lore?

According to his champion lore, Draven is a great fighter. He wields dual axes and has great showmanship, which makes him a key fighter in the reckoning pits. He was also known for his skills with the blade, as mentioned in his champion lore. But his need for recognition wasn’t fulfilled in the army.

Draven is the most well-known reckoner thanks to his skill and his fighting prowess, making him an extremely strong character based solely on his champion lore.
