Patch 11 19 Highlights
Yone is receiving a new skin and Ryze is getting nerfed – all in LoL Patch 11.19! | © Riot games

The Worlds 2021 LoL Patch 11.19 is finally live and with it, we got a boatload of champion buffs and the release of the first female Yordle since 2012. We’re preparing for the biggest esports event of the year, and this patch has the final adjustments ready before the action starts on October 5.

Vex is finally released and after a long delay, we get to play her in the mid lane as a mage. Of course, that isn’t the only new thing in this patch. This patch is probably the most important patch of the year, since we’ll have to deal with it for a whole month during the 2021 World Championship. So let’s jump into the highlights of LoL Patch 11.19 right away!

Vex Champion Release in LoL Patch 11.19

Vex is finally here! We’ve ranted and raved about the Yordle for months now, trying to figure out just who she might be – for the longest time, we thought she would be Norra – and what her abilities could be. Now, we finally get to play her in LoL Patch 11.19!

  • Check out the Sett and Sylas Champion Guides! They're written by Kamon and Autophil, two of the Top 500 League of Legends players worldwide!

Her abilities look like a lot of fun, and she doesn’t seem like an overloaded champion, which makes her an ideal pick for anyone who wants to try out the mid lane. The fact that she counters dashes is also extremely rewarding, especially with all the dart and dash-heavy champions Riot has released over the last year or so.

Here is a quick rundown of Vex's abilities:

  • Passive - Doom ‘n Gloom: Doom - Periodically, Vex becomes empowered by Doom, causing her next basic ability to interrupt dashes and Fear enemies. / Gloom - Whenever a nearby enemy dashes or blinks, they become marked with Gloom. Vex’s next basic attack against a marked enemy detonates the mark, dealing bonus damage and refunding part of Doom's cooldown!
  • Q - Mistral Bolt: Vex launches a wave forward, dealing magic damage to enemies it passes through. After a short delay, the wave accelerates but has reduced width. Mistral Bolt detonates Gloom on any marked enemies it hits.
  • W - Personal Space: Vex gains a shield and emits a shockwave, dealing magic damage to enemies around her. Personal Space detonates Gloom on any marked enemies it hits.
  • E - Looming Darkness: Shadow flies to a location, increasing in size as it travels. On arriving, Shadow deals magic damage, slows, and marks enemies hit with Gloom.
  • R - Shadow Surge: Shadow flies forward, marking and dealing magic damage to the first enemy champion hit. Vex can then recast this ability to have Shadow pull her to the marked target, dealing additional magic damage.

Fizz Changes Reverted in LoL Patch 11.19

Fizz got some massive changes in the previous patch, but instead of helping the fish out, he completely dropped off the face of this earth. Therefore, instead of fine-tuning those changes and trying to figure out how to make them work, Riot has decided to completely revert them.

  • Just imagine the Riot MMO with the gameplay of The Witcher 3.

Instead, he got a simpler buff in LoL Patch 11.19. They tried to make him more viable in pro play with the previous changes, so hopefully the simple buff he got in LoL Patch 11.19 will let him make an appearance at the 2021 World Championship.

Qiyana E+Q Combo Adjusted in LoL Patch 11.19

Qiyana’s E+Q Combo was something no one could escape from before LoL Patch 11.18. Riot adjusted the auto-aim so that players were able to flash or dash away from the combo. Unfortunately, this targeting fix was a little too forgiving, and anyone who dashed could get away from her combo. RIP.

Therefore, Riot has made a few adjustments so that if you dash or flash and still land within her range, you still won’t be able to escape her E+Q combo. Of course, her jungle stats were also adjusted since she wasn’t showing the results the balance team had wanted from her.

Ryze Nerfs in LoL Patch 11.19

Ryze has become a bit too powerful and risen above other mid laners, hence, he got a nerf in LoL Patch 11.19. His Q damage has been lowered and the E cooldown was elongated as well. Hopefully, these changes stop him from becoming a staple at this year's World Championship.
