It was a matter of time, but we finally got it! All the games from Riot in one place. Let's see what's new with this new Riot client.

It looks like Riot is planning something huge for all their games. First, we get leaks about a new streaming app, then an announcement about replacing League+ with an entirely new project, and now we hear about a new Riot client coming this month. Where is this all going? We don't know exactly yet, but we won't hide the fact that we are highly curious, and we have to admit that this is quite a productive year for Riot. Alright, but let's look at everything we know about this new client, as things are looking super exciting!

New Riot Client: Features

The last 2 years have shown us the reason for that "s" in "Riot Games". We got 5 online games in different genres, and they're still at least 3 projects to come (Fighting, Hack & Slash, MMORPG). So yes, Riot is not just League of Legends anymore, and that's why we needed a new client — to have access to all of Riot's games and friends in one convenient place. And here we get it!

All desktop Riot games will be accessible from one client, with each game having its own dedicated product page with game-specific content including the latest news and events. You’ll be able to clean up your desktop and only have one Riot Client launcher where all your favorite Riot games will live! However, if you prefer, you can maintain your existing game desktop shortcuts for a direct path to your favorite game.

This sounds very similar to how it looks in the Battle.net client, don't you think? Another big feature of the new Riot client will be automatic updates! There will be no need to click anything to download the latest update for your favorite game. Moreover, we might also get some more social features, especially since this new Riot Mobile App is coming out very soon.

As for the design of the new client, Riot hasn't shown the details yet, but we do have a statement, which announces that we're getting something that neither Steam, Epic Games, nor Battle.net has. And what is that?

Even though all Riot’s games will be housed under one Riot Client, each game will have its own dedicated landing page with game-specific details and dynamic call to action. Game pages will include cinematic backgrounds, previews of events and relevant news to you all while being able to install or patch the game.

Sounds awesome, right? Here's a preview of what it will look like:

New Riot Client: Release Date

The new Riot Client will start rolling out on September 20 and should be available to all players worldwide as early as October 4. There will be no need to download anything; the new Riot Client will appear as an update to the current client. However, expect it to be quite a large update! We are also curious how this new client will affect User Interface of all games from Riot. Could this mean some minor game updates before October 4? What do you think?
