Tiki Concept Art

Tiki the doll was going to be the entry into the voodoo genre for League of Legends, but alas their release was always pushed back and eventually completely scrapped. Some people say that the idea of Tiki was brought back with Amumu. Honestly, we would love to see a walking voodoo mask on Summoner's Rift. Meme potential galore! (Credit: Riot Games)

Avasha Concept Art 2

Avasha is a "vampire blademaiden" who was supposed to be a fighter. Her development reached pretty far, since she even already had set abilities in 2013. It is unclear why she was never released though. Her design is a bit like that of Riven and Katarina with some added vampire aesthetics. (Credit: lolwiki)

Ao Shin Champion

Ao Shin didn't make it into League of Legends, but much of his looks and design were taken over by Aurelion Sol. And well he did get released eventually as a Little Legend in TFT (Credit: lolwiki)

Averdrian Lo L

Averdrian, the"Astral Guardian" was supposed to be released with the first batch of Champions in 2009 during the closed Beta. He was described as a small boy who was left behind by his mother in a trash can. Pretty sad... He probably didn't fit the aesthetic of the champions at the time and was cut. (Credit: lolwiki)

Eagle Rider concept art

Eagle Rider seems to be a champion who also combines two champions into one. Quinn and Olaf. It seems that originally they were going to look a lot more like Olaf. Honestly, these two champions alone are dangerous enough so good riddance. (Credit: lolwiki)

Concept Art Ceecee

Ceecee was scrapped since she just didn't look like a tank. Her hammer also works as a giant shield... does it ring a bell? Yup, this is the basis for Braum! And well Braum looks like a a picture perfect tank. Job well done Riot. (Credit: lolwiki)

Concept Art Gavid

Gavid, the king of the plants managed to make it through development until Riot finally pulled the plug. At the time they said that the champion didn't work well with the current League of Legends concept, but he was later brought back through Zyra and Moakai. (Credit: lolwiki)

Concept Art Hive

Husk, the Hive Commander was supposed to be the leader of special troupes from Zaun and also Caitlyn's Ex. Her bee-concept could be something Riot might look at once more in the future. Concept Art Omen

Omen was supposed to be a Void corrupter crawler (or at least something along those lines). It was revealed during a creator talk that their design was a mistake and well... honestly it looks like it too. But Omen did make a bit of a comeback with Rek'sai! (Credit: lolwiki)

Concept Art Priscilla

Priscilla was a spider queen. Her concept seems to be a mix of Urgot (post rework) and, obviously, Elise. Somehow she managed to look even creepier. (Credit: lolwiki)

Concept Art Rob Schwarzklinge

Rob Blackblade is another champion who just didn't harmonize with the cast of League of Legends. Originally he was planned early on in season 1, but was deleted. It seems that his theme was then changed to Urgot over the years and the art style was adopted by PsyOps Yi. (Credit: lolwiki)

Concept Art Tabu

Tabu, the Voodoo-Shaman is in the background of multiple splash arts (for example Prehistoric Cho;Gath, Renekton & Anivia). The voodoo idea was thrown away though, just like with Tiki. A few of his outer looks did transfer over to Swain though! (Credit: lolwiki)

Especially in the early days, there were some champion concepts that were scrapped right away. So we've done some digging and found some quite interesting champions who just didn't make it into Summoner's Rift. Hey, maybe you even know a few... because we know that Riot likes to recycle ideas... We're looking at you Aurelion Sol.
