While the big organizations in SEA are busy shuffling rosters, some of the most famous players from the region decided to form a new team. Kuku, Jabz, 23savage, Abed, and Whitemon are now Just4Fun.

Dota 2 has seen better days in its competitive scene as Valve recently announced the next season won’t be starting until early next year. In the meantime, esports organizations have either shut down entirely or made some notable roster changes. The SEA region is a good example, as we recently saw GeekFam disband while Fnatic released one of their longest-standing players.

The Beyond The Summit Pro Series is already in its third season and two new regions will join it this weekend. We’re talking about Europe/CIS and SEA. What we’re really interested in though is the SEA region and one of the teams there. Looking at the participants we’ll find some of the usual suspects for the region including Fnatic, TNC, BOOM Esports, and others. The team we’re curious about isn’t one of them but Just4Fun.

An All-Star Team in SEA

Just4Fun seems to be only a temporary line up but despite that, it could prove a big challenge for some of the big teams in Southeast Asia. The team consists of some of the best players from the region:

  • Nuengnara "23savage" Teeramahanon
  • Abed “Abed” Yusop
  • Carlo "Kuku" Palad
  • Anucha "Jabz" Jirawong
  • Matthew "Whitemon" Filemon

Out of the five, only Abed is currently playing for a team, the rest are free agents. Kuku and Whitemon last played for Geek Fam before the organization’s Dota 2 team was dropped earlier this month. 23Savage left Fnatic in July and Jabz was removed from it yesterday. Abed is still part of Evil Geniuses but the team is playing without him due to coronavirus restrictions.

As we’ve already mentioned Just4Fun will only be a temporary line up for the duration of the BTS Pro Series Season 3 SEA. Kuku himself mentioned it in the Facebook reveal post:

Here's our team Among Us line up that will participate in BTS Pro Series - Season 3 Tournament only!

Then again, considering that four of the members are currently free agents, we might see a new team get formed right after the conclusion of the event. In theory this roster should wipe away most of the competition. In practice we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.

The BTS Pro Series Season 3 SEA kicks off this Saturday, September 12. Don’t miss the live stream!
