An Armored Core 6 Co-Op Mod Is In Development

Armored Core 6, FromSoftware's fantastic mech action game, is getting a proper co-op mode soon thanks to the efforts of a veteran modder.

How do you feel about giant mechs with giant guns and swords? What about customizing those mechs as you like and using them to wreak havoc on a heavily militarized planet? If any of that sounds appealing to you, then you've probably already played Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon , FromSoftware's long-overdue continuation of their mech-fighting action RPG franchise.

But if you'd have liked to take a friend along into the game's desolate landscapes, the modding community might have you covered soon. Veteran modder LukeYui, who previously brought us seamless co-op mods for Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and Elden Ring, recently posted a video on their YouTube channel showing off an early build of their Co-op Mod for Armored Core VI:

Armored Core VI Co-Op Might Be More Engaging Than We Expected

In the video the game seems to treat Player 2 like a regular NPC ally, and enemies react to them accordingly, so the game's enemy AI might actually already be suited for Co-op play!

According to LukeYui the mod will support up to 6 players and have enemy scaling at release, meaning that even with 6 ACs on the field the game should still be decently challenging.

Co-op modes in FromSoftware games are usually clunky at best and nonexistent at worst, so LukeYui's efforts are definitely appreciated by the games' communities. A release date for this latest mod wasn't given yet, so if you were hoping to do your next playthrough of the game with a friend (or several), you'll have to be patient for a little while longer.
