A fan favorite map's return is looming. Leaks indicate that Valve is actively working on a Train remake.

The legendary map Train has been absent from CS ever since the transition from Counter Strike: Global Offensive to Counter Strike 2. This might change soon.
Valve is working on Train's return to the game!

Valve already teased a CS2 version of Train in one of their trailers, back when CS2 was first announced in March 2023.
Based on what we saw back then, it appeared to be a rather simple port from the map's CS:GO version. But given the amount of time that has passed since then, we might get a proper remake.
Train was originally built in 1999 and played its part throughout CS 1.6 and CS Source. The Source Version was then ported to CS:GO.
This version was playable since the release day of Global Offensive in 2012. Here is how it looked back then:

But then, in 2014, Train became the first map to be completely remade from top to bottom. The remade version of the map made its way into the Active Duty Map Pool and was played at every major event until Berlin 2019.

It stayed within said pool up until early 2021, where it got removed in favor of Ancient. It was still playable until the end of CS:GO, but has been missing ever since.
Ironically, the 10-year anniversary of Train's big CS:GO makeover might mark the point of its debut in CS2.
Are you excited by the news of this remake? Did you enjoy Train back in CS:GO?
