The scene that looks suspiciously like a Pixar or Disney movie is actually real, no matter how unbelievable it sounds: A group of seven stolen dogs in China escaped a car together and returned back home.

The Brave Journey

Without context, this scene looks not too far out of the ordinary. A few dogs of all shapes and sizes are seemingly walking themselves. But the story is much more than that: According to NEXTA, these brave dogs are on their way back home after getting stolen for a dog meat market.

The scene took place in China's Jilin province that (according to one user on Twitter) still has over fifty slaughterhouses. The Corgi seemed to lead the group, while some other bigger dogs in the back protected a German shepherd who was injured. It tells the tale of friendship, resilience and determination, far beyond the influence of humans. As far as we know, it is unclear if any other dogs were on the truck that took them there in the first place – but the fact that these seven dogs managed to walk over ten miles (17 kilometers) back to where they were taken from, is a huge success.

Even though according to Dexerto, it was confirmed by local rescuers that all seven dogs made it back home, making it very unlikely that this story is fake, many people were suspicious at first. Generally, however, most people were more excited than critical upon hearing these news.

The Internet's Reaction

Naturally, people were very excited and touched by this story. The fact that a group of dogs managed to find their way back home after they got taken by someone who allegedly wanted to bring them to a slaughterhouse is something that would give anyone an instant boost of serotonin. It had a similar effect on people as the story surrounding Punch, a small monkey who carried around his plushie everywhere he wentboth stories got people emotionally invested for a good reason. One user commented on a clip of the dogs:

"this is straight out of a disney film i can't handle this"

Others are currently making art and AI-generating fake film posters, maybe to inspire major film studios to pick the story up and make it into an animated movie.
