A branch of Chick-fil-A fired it's whole night shift for making a viral TikTok video dancing in the restaurant.

The "Big Issue"

On March 21, TikToker lland1n uploaded a video of himself and his co-workers in their Chick-fil-A location dancing to a remix of Wanna Mingle and Top of Cars from DJ Vic, bouncing their chests. The clip is captured with "My cfa crew better than yours". It went viral and now has over 6 million views.

The plot twist occured however, on March 26, when llan1n uploaded an update to the situation. He states the innocent, fun dancing video got the whole staff fired.

We got fired. Every single last one of us got fired.

He said he had asked permission from everyone that can be seen in the video and talked them through his plans. He reiterates that this particular Chick-fil-A branch is not really a whole Chick-fil-A with them having a limited menu, not taking giftcards and not taking cash. Moreover, the establishment was closed at the time of filming and posting the video.

When I finished making the video, I posted it, right then and there. No one was in our establishment. We were closed.

It was not even the first and only video lland1n had made with his night shift co-workers and also not the first to go viral, he states.

As his manager got involved, lland1n offered to take the video down but the manager declined, saying it already was a "big issue", according to the TikToker.

The video got posted on Friday, and y’all hit me up on Sunday to let me know that I was fired. Ok, cool.

All of the eight employees of the night shift were let go.

From his previous videos, it is clear that the Chick-fil-A branch the TikToker worked in was located near the Tuskegee University in Alabama.

While some comments say the video was indeed unprofessional, most critisize the company. They say it shines a good light on the fast food franchise to see its employees having fun at work. A lot of people think, a "write up" of the staff would have been enough and firing them was excessive – especially given the restaurant was closed. They say, as lland1n did, "it's not that deep". They were just a few co-workers having fun, dancing in a closed restaurant. Chick-fil-A seems to run a tight ship with no fun allowed on shift.
