At the 'Wicked: For Good' premiere, Ariana Grande faced a frightening moment when an attendee rushed toward her, leaving fans angry.
Cynthia Erivo protected Ariana Grande from a frightening situation at the Wicked: For Good premiere.
Together with her co-stars from the highly anticipated second part of Wicked, Michelle Yeoh and Cynthia Erivo, Grande walked by fans, celebrating the premiere and greeting everyone.
Suddenly, one of the attendees ran at Grande, holding his arm around her while screaming and jumping.
Erivo Reacts Faster Than Security
Erivo stepped in quicker than any security guard and without hesitation, trying her best to get the man away from Grande until security could capture him.
Looking at different perspectives of the incident, the shock on Grande’s face is clear, as she was visibly shaking.
Her co-stars immediately shielded her, asking if she was okay, while fans on both sides also checked in. Grande nodded, but still seemed shaken and unsettled.
Fans Are Shocked
The incident caused outrage among fans, many of whom emphasized that Grande has faced traumatic experiences in the past, and that she may still struggle with PTSD.
On May 22, 2017, an Islamist attacker detonated a bomb as fans were leaving the Manchester Arena after one of her concerts.
„Remember Ariana had to endure PTSD after the Manchester attacks, something like this would be a real trigger“
„You do not get to touch someone just bc they’re a celebrity“
Later, security escorted him out. People questioned how anyone could be so insensitive and reckless, forgetting that celebrities are human beings too.
Apparently, this was not the first time the man pulled a stunt like this. Footage, showing him doing the same to Katy Perry and The Weekend, were also shared online.
We hope Grande is doing okay after the incident and wish her all the best.
