The world recently lost one of the most important mangaka of all time. Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama passed away at the age of just 68, leaving behind an unmatched legacy. To this day, the influence of the 40-year-old manga series is evident, spawning numerous anime adaptations and video games.
Many mangaka of well-known series such as Naruto, One Piece, and Bleach were inspired by Dragon Ball. As a way to give back, many of them have already drawn Dragon Ball characters in the style of their own creations for the 30th anniversary of Dragon Ball.
Famous Mangaka Draw Dragon Ball Characters In Their Style
Back in 2016, many well-known manga creators took up their pens and brushes for the Dragon Ball: 30th Anniversary Super History Book to pay tribute to Toriyama's legendary creation. In this Twitter thread, a user has compiled some of these pieces.

In the thread, you'll find drawings and colored images from manga stars like Masashi Kishimoto, the creator of Naruto. He drew significant inspiration from Toriyama's work, as he was a big fan of Dragon Ball and Dragon Quest, to which Toriyama also contributed as an art designer. Kishimoto's character popular Naruto Uzumaki is largely inspired by Dragon Ball's Son Goku.
My Hero Academia creator Kōhei Horikoshi also participated. Among his favorite manga series as a child were Dragon Ball, Naruto, One Piece, and Akira. Speaking of One Piece, Eiichiro Oda also contributed a few images. He, too, cites Dragon Ball as one of the greatest sources of inspiration for his work. A part of Luffy's personality is also influenced by Son Goku.
