A former Reddit moderator is urging the government to release the so-called “Twitch and Reddit files”, but what does he actually mean by that?

Former Reddit moderator Stale2000 is back in the spotlight. After being removed from r/LivestreamFail for promoting an alleged scam, he has turned his attention to a new mission: pushing for the release of what he calls the “Twitch and Reddit files.”

Stale2000 Back In The Spotlight With Demand For “Twitch And Reddit Files” Release

After being involved in the Million Dollar Fan controversy, former Reddit moderator Stale2000, whose real name is Bryan Wade, made headlines by demanding what he described as “celebrity treatment” for Reddit moderators. According to him, moderators hold real power and influence online and should be recognized accordingly.

However, his focus has since shifted. He is now pushing for the release of what he calls the “Twitch and Reddit files.” With that phrase, he is referring to closed door congressional interviews with executives from Reddit, Twitch, Discord, and Steam regarding concerns about online radicalization. Wade is urging lawmakers to publish the transcripts of those interviews, arguing that they were always meant to become public:

“It was not a public hearing, but they were transcribed interviews and these are supposedly to be eventually released. I think they just forgot.”

So far, he says he has contacted officials three times to demand their release, but without success.

In his latest video, Wade addresses Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne directly. Van Duyne currently serves as the Republican leader of the Creator Economy Caucus. Beyond calling for the transcripts to be made public, Wade repeatedly claims that Twitch in particular operates with political bias, citing its handling of controversial political streamers such as Hasan Piker as an example, therefore urging Van Duyne to step in.

Whether Wade’s campaign is ultimately driven by genuine transparency concerns or simply in an effort to his name in the spotlight remains open to interpretation. What is certain, however, is that he once again finds himself at the center of attention. Whether these “Twitch and Reddit files” actually contain information of significant public interest also remains unclear. Still, something tells me that people right now are a little more focused on some other files.
