ExtraEmily is facing another wave of criticism after a new clip appeared to show the streamer reading her stream's chat while driving.

A 42-second clip appears to show ExtraEmily behind the wheel of a moving vehicle, with the streamer looking down at her screen several times. She was also fidgeting with a straw in one hand. Viewers in her chat can also be seen warning her to pay attention to the road.

Fortunately, her distracted driving did not result in any crash or injury. Still, this clip has reignited concerns about ExtraEmily's long-documented history of reckless driving.

Twitch Ambassador Calls Out ExtraEmily

Twitch Ambassador Steven Spohn was among those who criticized the incident and questioned why the streaming platform continues to allow creators to broadcast while driving.

"I have no idea what I'm supposed to say here", Spohn responded to the clip on social media and expressed frustration with both ExtraEmily's behavior and Twitch's enforcement of its rules.

He pointed out that viewers could see people in ExtraEmily's chat telling her to stop reading messages and focus on the road. Spohn also claimed that the clip appeared to show her swerving while driving.

ExtraEmily Has Been Suspended Multiple Times

This isn't the first time ExtraEmily has faced backlash for interacting with her stream while driving. In October 2023, ExtraEmily received an 18-hour suspension after being caught using her phone while driving.

She was suspended again in April 2025 after an incident that appeared to show her running a red light while looking at her phone.

In June 2026, she was hit with a 24-hour suspension after a livestream appeared to show her looking away from the road while making a turn. A vehicle approached from the opposite direction, and ExtraEmily narrowly avoided a collision.

Following this suspension, ExtraEmily acknowledged that she needed to change how she approached her IRL streams. She said she planned to reduce driving on her streams and, if she did drive, would turn off chat.

Streamers Want Twitch To Crack Down On Reckless Driving

The latest clip has also renewed a larger debate over driving streams on Twitch. Other prominent creators have criticized the practice, with Tectone bluntly calling on streamers to stop driving while broadcasting.

Asmongold has also argued that creators should only stream from a moving vehicle when somebody else is behind the wheel. He previously said he had privately complained to Twitch about distracted driving streams and argued that allowing streamers to drive while interacting with their audiences creates an unnecessary safety risk.

Twitch's own Community Guidelines prohibit dangerous or distracted driving. The platform specifically states that streamers cannot engage in "dangerous or distracted driving, including using a phone while driving and driving under the influence."

The latest backlash comes just weeks after Twitch announced ExtraEmily as one of its newest Ambassadors. The appointment itself was controversial at the time, with several creators questioning why Twitch would select someone who had so recently violated the platform's rules.
