Over the Christmas holidays, FaZe Clan’s most prominent streamers announced that they would be leaving the organization. Within just a few days, FaZe lost a central part of its creator identity, sparking widespread debate about the future of the organization.
FaZe Clan’s streamers have achieved worldwide recognition. Names such as JasonTheWeen, Lacy, Adapt, StableRonaldo, and YourRage shaped the public image of the organization for years. It therefore came as a major surprise when they almost simultaneously announced their intention to leave FaZe over the Christmas holidays. The key question now is: why?
FaZe Clan Loses Its Most Prominent Streamers
Following the announcement that FaZe Clan’s most prominent streamers are leaving the organization, many fans have been speculating about the reasons behind the decision. The departure of Adapt in particular has caused widespread shock. Having been part of FaZe for 14 years, the streamer is regarded by many as the very personification of the brand itself.
The affected streamers have since spoken out themselves. Lacy, Silky, JasonTheWeen, StableRonaldo, and Adapt released a statement video confirming their departure. However, they did not provide any specific reasons. Adapt limited his remarks to the brief statement:
"It had to be done."
After The Split: Banks Speaks Out
FaZe Banks, co-founder of FaZe Clan, also commented publicly on the situation. Banks himself left the organization earlier this year, but appeared far from satisfied with the current developments. In clear and blunt terms, he particularly criticized the behavior of those involved:
“I find you guys to have insane egos. I think it’s disgusting. It makes me sick to my stomach that your guys’ relationship with each other, with every other streamer, and your community included, is so incredibly fake. You guys are the best actors on planet Earth, and you’ve made a complete career out of all of it.”
Banks further stated that his time at FaZe had not been financially worthwhile for him and that, in hindsight, he regretted that period of his life. He also announced that he intends to release additional background information in the near future.
Meanwhile, many fans are speculating about what comes next for the former FaZe streamers. Both Valkyrae and Agent00 suggested that the group’s collective departure could indicate plans to form their own organization. However, this has not been officially confirmed so far.
One thing is clear: the departure from FaZe does not mark the end of the streamers’ collaboration with one another, but rather the beginning of a new chapter. What exactly this chapter will look like remains to be seen.
