Over the last few days Twitch saw streamers do something very new. Not a new game, not a high-effort new streamer competition show but something much simpler – cutting a log of wood with a plastic knife.
As entertaining as it is to watch a person try to cut a log of wood with a plastic knife, it’s fair to be a little confused. Who started all of this and what is it about?
How It All Started...
In a now-deleted series of vods streamer Erobb just decided to challenge himself and attempt to cut a log with a plastic knife and put up a timer to see how long it would take. His chat seemed to be excited to watch. From a reupload of his first of three vods, we know that he did not believe it would work from the start.
I'm telling you it's not gonna work. But oh well. We're gonna try it.
In total his log-cutting stream took him just over 24 hours and he did not manage to cut through the log. Many other streamers grew interested in the challenge as it went on and checked in on him throughout. While he really only managed to put a dent into the wood, his challenge entertained not only the viewers, but everyone that came across his streams, vods or clips of it.

Others Decided To Join
Shortly after people grew interested in Erobb's challenge, streamer sodapoppin decided to join in after getting banned from WoW less than an hour into his stream. And after a while, even though sodapoppin spent a lot less time on cutting into the log with a total of two hours, he not only managed to surpass Erobb, but he also seemed to be actually invested into the challenge.
After stopping for the day he states:
Prog is there. Prog is absolutely there.
Now, Erobb's vods are deleted. But in case you are now interested in seeing someone attempt to cut through a log with a plastic knife or are even inspired to try it yourself, sodapoppin seems to have taken the challenge over.
