Former Finance Minister of Greece joins HasanAbi on a stream and asks him to run for office.
In a recent stream, Hasan Piker had former finance minister Yanis Varoufakis as a guest. At one point in their conversation, Varoufakis then asks the streamer if he ever thought about running for office.
Political Streamer And Soon Politician?
HasanAbi, also known as Hasan Piker, is a successful Twitch commentary streamer who often talks about politics. The jump from political streamer, talking to thousands and thousands of viewers every single day and sharing his own values and viewpoints to a politician isn’t that far-fetched.
Especially for a creator who is as big as him. Hasan Piker, who recently got banned on Twitch for remarks about zionism and attracted a lot of hate for allegedly using a shock collar on his dog in late 2025, has a huge platform with many people genuinely supporting him and his opinions.
"These People Have To Vote For Someone"
In a recent stream, Hasan had former finance minister of Greece Yanis Varoufakis as a guest. There, Varoufakis asked Piker if he ever considered running for elections. The streamer quickly denied that, prompting Varoufakis to dig deeper. He tells the streamer:
"Someone has got to do it. These people have to vote for someone. What are you going to say to them when the midterms come? Don't vote?"
Which the streamer denies again. Varoufakis seems to be trying to tell both him and his audience that they need a candidate to vote for. However, Piker seems completely uninterested in that career path. He points out:
"My point is there's a finite amount of time and energy and effort that I can spend on this and I feel like this is how I can maximise my output."
To many people's relief, the streamer probably won't actually go into politics any time soon. Some comments also feared that if Hasan actually went into politics, other streamers might follow and do the same:
Hasan running for office would make Asmongold run for office to farm for content

As entertaining that could be for viewers for a little while, it might be best for everyone involved if that doesn't happen.
