A simple feud between HutchMF and TheBurntPeanut spiraled into a full-scale community war, but who are these guys, what was this war about, and most importantly: who actually won?

Who Are The Two Streamers Behind The Feud?

Before diving into the war itself, here is a short introduction to the two main actors of the feud. On one side we have HutchMF, a true variety streamer who plays everything from WoW to GTA V. He hops from game to game without hesitation, so naturally he jumped into ARC Raiders as soon as it became the big new title on Twitch.

On the other side we have the VTuber TheBurntPeanut. He is almost the exact opposite of Hutch. He originally became popular through Escape from Tarkov, which makes him first and foremost an FPS-focused creator. Since the launch of ARC Raiders, he has become one of the rising stars on Twitch. Whether it is his peanut character model, his aggressive playstyle, or his complete lack of a verbal filter, something about him clearly resonates with his audience, and he regularly reaches more than 20,000 concurrent viewers.

The two creators could not be more different, yet both are known for their hot-headed and fiery nature. In many ways a conflict between them was simply waiting to happen.

The Day ARC Raiders Turned Into a Battlefield

The conflict began with a player knocking HutchMF out and shouting:

"For the Bungulators."

This was a reference to TheBurntPeanut, who is often nicknamed the Bungulator. HutchMF reacted instantly and declared war on X after the incident. Peanut did not hesitate to respond, and wrote:

"If it is war with the Bungulators you want, then it is war you'll get."

Hutch’s faction called themselves the FMFers, while Peanut’s supporters embraced the name Bungulators. The groups quickly grew, and several prominent streamers sided with them. TimTheTatman and NICKMERCS joined the FMFers. On the Bungulators’ side were Shroud, Nadeshot and Ninja.

Each faction adopted its own signature look. The FMFers used the Torpedo skin with everything turned off except the goggles. The Bungulators used the Striker skin with all elements enabled. This made it immediately clear which faction any player in a lobby belonged to.

The war officially began on November 22 on the Space Port map. All creators attempted to queue at the same time in hopes of landing in the same matches. For Peanut, the war turned out to be less of a war and more of a struggle to even find FMFers in his lobbies, while Hutch encountered Bungulators constantly.

In the end, TheBurntPeanut declared himself the winner of the community war in ARC Raiders. HutchMF did not fully agree with that conclusion, but the two eventually called a truce and the event came to an end. In the end, it wasn’t even just about who won or lost. It was about how ARC Raiders as a game was amazing enough to let something like this happen in the first place.

The True Power Of ARC Raiders

So what made that event so awesome wasn’t necessarily the feud between the streamers, but the communities and the game itself. ARC Raiders is a hit right now because of the unique interactions you can have in this game. Through proximity chat you can hear players near you. Sometimes you can negotiate your way out of dangerous situations. Sometimes you can just chill with people, and every once in a while you will encounter someone who just uses the mic to sound like an utter maniac. However it goes, the community war showed the biggest strength of ARC Raiders: the community itself.
