The Hype Train feature allows Twitch users to show their love for certain streamers in a bigger way than with the usual tools – and as with almost every Twitch feature, there are streamers fighting for the top spot.

Record breaking Hype Trains on Twitch

The world of Twitch is also a world of records – at least when it comes to the top streamers of the platform. Like the ongoing subscriber war between Kai Cenat and VTuber IronMouse, trying to keep the throne of most paid subscriptions on Twitch.

Other records are focusing on other numbers like the most followers or views in current time – or the size of Hype Train. Starting the year off with a bang, Neurosama is now the new record holder of the latter.

According to Twitch, the “Hype Train is a super-sized celebration when community members unite to support a streamer they love. It challenges the community to reach epic levels of hype and rewards participants for keeping the train on track”.

Depending on the size of the Hype Train and the number of users involved into it, the event gets rated with a certain level.

Jason Thor Hall, game developer best known for the Pirate Software brand, set a record back in 2023 only to shatter it months later in April of the next year with over 54,000 subs and 8.000.000 bits during the biggest Hype Train in Twitch history.

But all of this is obsolete with the numbers AI-driven VTtuber Neurosama had to offer during its last Stream.

Neurosama taking the first spot

Neurosama is the most popular creation of Coder Vedal who is known for his weird and experimental projects like the AI-powered VTuber streaming on Twitch.

The biggest appeal for viewers seems to be to see how the AI software reacts to their comments in chat while listening to the weird, sometimes insane replies Neurosama gives.

While this creation helped to gather about 7,000,000 followers on Vedal’s Twitch account, the biggest stream to date just occurred with the start of the new year.

The Hype Train during said stream reached Level 111, smashing Pirate Software’s 106.

Pirate Software wants to reclaim the record

Of course, Pirate Software doesn’t want to go without a fight and claims to get the record back as soon as possible. Praising the competition between him and Vedal, he wrote:

I cannot stress enough how awesome Vedal and their community are. That being said: On April 1 at 10AM PT, the goblins will return fire.

It seems like fans might not have to wait too long for another fight over big numbers in the world of Twitch and Pirate Software and Vedal trying to overcome each other with even bigger Hype Trains. But: Until the attempt to reclaim the title happens, the record holder will still be the AI-powered Neurosama.

What do you think about the Hype Train war between the two streamers? What are your thoughts on AI-creations claiming such records for themselves?
