The iconic fedora from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom was sold at auction for $630,000.
There aren't many movie characters that are as iconic as Indiana Jones. The character has been referenced and or parodied in countless other pieces of media.
So it's no surprise that an original collector's itemlike Indiana Jones' hat would sell at such a high price.
$630,000 For Indy's Fedora
The hat in question was not from the first Indiana Jones movie. It was made specifically for Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, and was part of Dean Ferrandini's collection.
Ferrandini was Harrison Ford's stunt double.
The fedora was worn mostly during the first few scenes, for example in the plane crash scene.
Now you might think: Anyone could claim "that fedora was worn by Indiana Jones." But there is a particular design choice that sets it apart from similar looking fakes.
The initials IJ were stitched into the inside of the hat in gold. And that made it worth $630k!
Other items that were sold at the auction included a wand used by Daniel Radcliffe for $53,550, a suit worn by Daniel Craig in Skyfall for $35,000 and an original Scout Trooper Helmet from Star Wars: Return of the Jedi for $315,000.
