Most anime fans agree that One Piece is one of the greatest, if not THE greatest anime / manga in history. It continuously shows up in people's top 5 and it makes sense: A show about a group of pirates and their charismatic leader Monkey D. Luffy looking for a great treasure: The One Piece. Many fans have grown up watching the show, wondering what the One Piece is. And soon, the wait could be over.

Life Imitates Art

Apologies to those who believed this was clickbait: This is actually real. The creator of One Piece Eiichiro Oda hid secrets about what the One Piece is on the bottom of the ocean. In a recently shared video in celebration of selling over 600 million copies worldwide, you can even see the process: He has never written the secret of what the One Piece is down on paper – until now. The little box containing the piece of paper was then sealed and dropped into the ocean.

Naturally, people got excited. Known for his anime content, creator Gigguk for example immediately reacted with a tweet claiming he is on his way to find it:

Over the years, Gigguk has uploaded countless of videos explaining plots of different animes, ranking them or generally just talking about them. He even made his own short anime. It was to be expected that he would get excited over such news. Still, most people had mixed feelings about the whole ordeal.

Fear Of Spoilers: Where Are We At Now?

Though people have been wondering what the One Piece could be for years or even decades, a lot of people are a little scared that someone will actually find the treasure and share its contents with the world. And their fear seems to be very valid: According to some fans on Twitter, the rough location of the treasure may have already been figured out, using some of the clips from the video that was posted.

But do you really want a big mystery that has followed you basically throughout your entire life be spoiled by someone finding a piece of paper on the ocean floor? A lot of people don't, even though they joke about taking diving lessons and starting their own Great Pirate Era like in the story.

Others are scared that people like for example MrBeast finding it. Most, however, agree that any real fan who finds it would just destroy it immediately instead of reading it and possibly spoiling the ending for others.

But what do you think? Amazing treasure hunt that imitates the contents of the story or terrifying opportunity for people to spoil it for others? Or maybe even fake altogether? Let us know in the comments!
