A Dominican influencer has gone viral after she was struck by a motorbike while filming a video in the middle of a busy road. While Yaritza Ortiz says the rider was speeding and hopes the incident encourages safer driving, many social media users believe the crash could have been avoided if she hadn't stepped into traffic.

Influencer Shares Message After Crash
The accident happened on July 31 along the Malecón seafront in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Ortiz was recording content when a motorbike collided with her, knocking her to the ground. The frightening moment was captured on video and later shared on her Instagram account.
Following the crash, Ortiz described the experience as something she “never imagined.” She claimed the rider had been speeding and said the incident completely changed her perspective.
“It doesn't matter if you're in a rush, if you know the road, or if you think you're in control,” she wrote. “Speeding can destroy families, dreams, and lives.” Ortiz added that she was grateful to have survived and hoped her story would encourage others to slow down behind the wheel.

While many followers wished Ortiz a speedy recovery, others questioned her actions. Viewers pointed out that the video appears to show her walking into the road outside a designated crosswalk, arguing that she also played a role in the accident.
