The best way to figure out how impressive Olympic athletes actually are is to check out a regular person who has not dedicated their entire life to getting good. Now, Instagram user Simona Stallone who goes by the username @theotherstallone is trying to be that point of reference.

The "Out Of Shape Olympics"

People have been talking about the idea of putting just one single unathletic person (or at least someone who is not a pro) into every single Olympic sport – just so we can see how hard it actually is. Unfortunately, the official Olympics never decided to actually do it. While that is in a way also understandable, it is even more exciting to know that Simona Stallone took that task upon herself.

The Winter-Olympics 2026 in Italy have made a lot of headlines. As the different disciplines like bobsleigh, skiing, figure skating and more got shown on TV, Simona Stallone gave them a shot in her so-called Out of Shape Olympics. She starts her videos off by saying:

"Welcome to my series the Out of Shape Olympics where I try as many Olympic sports as I am physically able to handle."

After having already started this journey during the Paris Summer Olympics in 2024, she gained a lot of followers who genuinely enjoy seeing the difference between her and Olympians.

Entertainment Turned Inspirational

While her series is supposed to be entertainment, it has the ability to genuinely motivate aspiring athletes. Just because you are not at the level of an Olympic athlete doesn't mean you can not try new sports out.

One of the disciplines Simona tried out was Skeleton, a sport which is similar to sledging but a lot faster and on an ice track. There, her time was not drastically far from the athlete's times. While the athlete's are still very impressive, it is undeniable that seeing a person try out something completely new is inspirational.
