Fans are shocked that neither Kai Cenat nor IShowSpeed took home the streamer of the year award at the Esports Awards 2024. They were robbed by a "nobody".
If you have used the internet in the past 12 months, you have probably heard about Kai Cenat and IShowSpeed.
These two are currently dominating the streaming scene, garnering huge audiences regularly.
But to the surprise of many, neither of these two streaming giants managed to take home the streamer of the year award at the Esports Awards 2024.
And The Winner Is…?
On August 24, 2024, Mexican Twitch streamer Samantha “Rivers” Rivera won the award for streamer of the year at the annual Esports Awards.
This has sparked an outrage, about the Esports Awards not giving the win to Kai Cenat or IShowSpeed, who are, undisputedly, the biggest streamers of the US right now.

Many people are saying that “Rivers” is a nobody, which is not entirely true. With an average of 11k viewers per stream in the last 30 days, she does make pretty good numbers.
Though, it is fair to say that Kai Cenat, who averages around 100k viewers per stream, is the bigger streamer.
I am sure that the show runners at the Esports Awards had their reasons to pick “Rivers”, but there is no denying that IShowSpeed and Kai Cenat are everywhere right now, and the disappointment of their fans is understandable.
Maybe they can get the win next time.
