According to him, the script is currently being written, and the film will be part of the first phase of the new DC Universe, titled Gods and Monsters. Importantly, this film is not connected to the upcoming HBO seriesParadise Lost, which will focus on the origins of Themyscira. James Gunn made it clear that the movie and the show are separate projects, though both will explore different parts of Wonder Woman’s world. Gal Gadot and director Patty Jenkins are not involved in the new film. Their previously planned Wonder Woman 3 was canceled when James Gunn and Peter Safran took over DC Studios in 2022. Melissa Barrera, known for her roles in Scream and Abigail, addressed the fan casting in an interview with A Shot Magazine.
“I think it’s nice because of what the character represents. I think whoever gets the role, I just hope that they can embody the essence of the character… and do something positive with the influence that they have, to at least be a good example of the kind of human being that you wanna be in the world, instead of just using it for self–serving purposes.
Her thoughtful response has further convinced fans that she would be the perfect choice for the role. Not just because of her looks or acting talent, but the way she speaks about the character with so much care and depth. She seems to truly understand what Diana Prince represents, and many are saying this is the most Diana Prince answer she could have possibly given.
