Gege Akutami is a Japanese mangaka known for the manga series "Jujutsu Kaisen", which has also been adapted into an anime. However, "Gege Akutami" is only a pseudonym, as he deliberately keeps his real name and other personal information, such as gender, to himself – he uses masculine pronouns for himself, though.

The successful "Jujutsu Kaisen" manga series was both written and illustrated by Gege Akutami and ended in 2024, much to the disappointment of many fans.

New Project „Mimojuro“ Announced

According to Shonen Jump News, Gege Akutami is already writing the new manga series “Mimojuro,” which is set to launch next week as a mini-series in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. Fans will also be able to read the series on Manga Plus starting September 6, 2025.

While Gege Akutami will write the story himself, the artwork will be created by Yuji Iwasaki, who is also responsible for the illustrations in the manga series "Cipher Academy".

So far, we don't know anything about the content of Gege Akutami's new manga series, but fans won't have to wait much longer. We are certainly excited to see what's coming!

How about you? Will you be reading the series?
