Supercell says 2025 was historic for Clash Royale. Jynxzi says they forgot who made it that way.
Clash Royale experienced an unexpected resurgence over the past year. While many players credit content creators like Jynxzi for the turnaround, Supercell’s official recap tells a different story.
Creator vs. Developer: Who Revived Clash Royale?
The controversy centers on a Supercell blog post titled Clash Royale: A Historic Year, in which the developer celebrated player growth, increased engagement and rising revenue figures, framing 2025 as a turning point for the long-running mobile title. The recap presented the comeback as the result of strategic internal decisions, game updates and long-term development efforts. What the article did not address at any point, however, was the role content creators played in driving renewed interest in the game.
That lack of recognition sparked immediate backlash from Jynxzi, who has been one of the most visible Clash Royale streamers over the past year. Reacting on X (formerly Twitter), he described the situation as “probably the biggest spit in the face I’ve ever seen,” saying the creator community had been deliberately ignored. In his view, the game’s recent success was not primarily the result of innovative mechanics or well-received feature updates. Instead, he argued that several major additions in recent history, including the introduction of Champions and Level 16, were met with skepticism and criticism from parts of the player base.
According to Jynxzi, the renewed momentum around Clash Royale was largely fueled by creators who consistently streamed the game, produced viral clips and reintroduced it to a wider audience. He emphasized that he does not see himself as the sole reason for the resurgence, pointing out that many creators contributed to rebuilding visibility and hype around the title. What he takes issue with is not a lack of personal recognition, but Supercell presenting the comeback as an internally driven success while making close to no reference to content creators in the recap.
Influencers Side With Jynxzi After Supercell Recap
In the aftermath of the drama, many content creators sided with Jynxzi in the feud. Even MrBeast commented:
"I only started playing again because of you."
The streamer Sketch went one step further and threatened to stop streaming the game until Supercell acknowledges Jynxzi’s impact:
"Not touching Clash Royale again until Supercell acknowledges Jynxzi’s impact. Disgusting to act as if a dev changed a game that’s been the same for years."
Other content creators also weighed in on the situation, including Lacy and Agent.
Lacy: "There is a serious problem with gaming companies not recognizing us creators when we are a pivotal piece in reviving games."
Agent: "Ngl I thought they gave you equity from how hard you were pushing it. They owe you some millions."
Regardless of how one views the situation, the discussion highlights the significant influence modern content creators can have on the life cycle of a game. For Jynxzi, this is not the first time he has helped revive a title. The streamer is originally known for Rainbow Six Siege, a game that saw a rise in player numbers alongside his growing popularity.
So if developers want their games to remain successful, acknowledging the creators within their communities may be more important than ever.
