Kick Streamer sjc_official streamed himself pepper spraying a man on the streets – but the situation behind the clip is way more confusing than that headline.
A fight that pretty much came out of nowhere escalated so quickly that one person ended up getting hurt – but the story behind this headline is a lot more confusing than it seems.
The Initial Incident
Kick streamer sjc_official is known for streaming himself driving around Los Angeles at night, calling it IRL Nightcrawling. A clip from one of these recent streams went viral. There, you could see him yelling at a man on a bike passing by. At first, his argument is somewhat understandable – though he did immediately start cussing, he tells the man to drive on the street instead of the sidewalk, but instead of the cyclist just brushing this comment off, he gets off of his bike and approaches the streamer.
What follows is a two minute long interaction of the two men yelling at each other and progressively getting more and more agitated. Both of them cuss each other out. The streamer instructs the cyclist repeatedly to get away and quickly threatens him with pepper spray and a taser. He quickly states:
I have a taser [...] in my bag. I will shoot a prong in your face.
To which the enraged cyclist repeatedly says:
Pull it out! Pull it out!
It is truly a baffling interaction that then ends with the streamer actually pepper spraying the man after the cyclist charges at him, then running away.
The Community's Reaction – What Was That?
Even though most people like to get mad at Kick Streamers for some of the things they say and do on Kick (rightfully so), this specific interaction was a little more multi-faceted than that. Most comments read something along the lines of: The guy did look like he was about to attack, so he did just defend himself but the whole interaction is bad from both sides.
According to the Reddit post, after the interaction, sjc_official got temporarily banned for his actions. This ban, however, didn't last long. A few days later he was streaming on Kick again, doing the same kind of IRL content as before.
What do you think? Was his reaction justified?
