A Kick streamer is facing backlash after posing beside a plane wreck that killed five people in Miami
A deadly plane crash at Miami International Airport has sparked a new controversy after Kick streamer Binx appeared to approach the wreckage and pose for a photo just hours after the accident. The incident has led to widespread criticism online, with viewers accusing the streamer of turning a tragedy into content.
Streamer Poses Beside Deadly Plane Wreck
On September 6, an Amazon cargo Boeing 767 operated by 21 Air overran the runway at Miami International Airport. The aircraft struck several vehicles after leaving the runway, killing five people and injuring five others. The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the cause of the crash.
Only a few hours later, Kick streamer Binx approached the crashed aircraft while livestreaming. Footage shared online appears to show her getting close to the plane's damaged nose and burnt wing.
At one point, Binx can be heard telling someone with her to take a picture. She repeatedly urges them to hurry as they move closer to the wreckage. The resulting image shows the streamer posing with the destroyed aircraft behind her while making a peace sign.
Reports also indicate that Binx crossed a barrier to get closer to the wreckage. A man later confronted the group and reportedly told them they were on private property, prompting them to leave.
The footage quickly spread across social media, with viewers accusing the streamer of showing a lack of respect toward the victims and their families.
Kick Streamer Faces Growing Backlash
The reaction to Binx's photo has been overwhelmingly negative. Comments across social media described the stunt as “disrespectful” and questioned why anyone would want to pose at the scene of a fatal accident so soon after it happened.
The controversy also raises questions about how far IRL streamers should go when chasing unusual or breaking-news content. Unlike a normal tourist attraction, the crash site was still connected to an active investigation and had only recently been the scene of a fatal accident.
It remains unclear whether Binx could face any legal consequences for approaching the wreckage. Dexerto notes that federal law restricts unauthorized entry into certain aircraft or airport areas, but there has been no indication that authorities are pursuing charges against the streamer.
The National Transportation Safety Board has since recovered the aircraft's flight data and cockpit voice recorders as investigators work to determine what caused the deadly crash.
