Are Theaters Making a Comeback?

With the high number of streaming providers, it is becoming increasingly difficult for theaters to keep up. But, what is called „outdated“ or „old school“ could easily become a trend again, right?

According to CNN, the total box office revenue for 2025 is approaching the $4 billion mark which would show an increase of 18% compared to 2024, slowly recovering from the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.

There might still be a long way to go, but with more movies coming to theaters before their release on streaming platforms, it could increase theaters revenues in the future.

After all, watching a movie on a big screen – with your phone off – is a nice way to fully dive into a story and spend some time with friends and family.

Whether going to the movies will make a comeback and become a trend again remains uncertain – a mystery, you might say.

Will you watch the movie? And if so, will you watch in a theater or at home? Let us know!
