On November 14, 2025, Ludwig Ahgren hosted a multi-hour charity livestream to honor the memory of Kanabana, one of his longest-standing and most active viewers. She had supported Ludwig when he had fewer than 100 people watching his stream and was an integral part of the chat. The viewer was transgender, and Ludwig recalled that his community was one of the few spaces where she felt safe. After her death, he spontaneously announced the charity stream in aid of the Trevor Project, an organization dedicated to suicide prevention among LGBTQ+ youth.

Community Overshoots The Mark

The stream was titled “Speedrunning Ludwig Charity Stream, At 100K I Dye My Hair Blonde” and promised entertainment for a good cause right from the start. Ludwig's goal was clear: to raise $100,000 for the Trevor Project. But the community exceeded all expectations: at the end of the stream, an impressive $104,094 was on the counter, a clear sign of the viewers' solidarity.

„I think we have a really special community.“

After achieving his goal, he announced that he would dye his hair blonde in his next stream, as promised.

More Than Just A Charity Stream

The stream was not only a fundraiser, but also a very personal moment. Ludwig fondly remembered Kanabana, talking about her infectious energy and how important she was to his journey as a creator. At the same time, he took the opportunity to draw attention to transphobic comments and spoke out clearly against such attitudes.

Ludwig's action shows how strong the bond between streamers and their communities can be, and how loss can be turned into something positive. The success of the stream is a sign that his community is not only made up of gaming fans, but also people who are there for each other.
