A classic show of the 00s comes back, but will lack an important character...

"Yes... no... maybe... I don't know... Can you repeat the question?" – If you’re not air-drumming at this point and then yelling "YOU’RE NOT THE BOSS OF ME NOW!", you’re either lying or grew up under a rock that was in a cave located beneath the ocean's surface right in the middle of the Bermuda Triangle.
Because Boss of Me by They Might Be Giants definitely holds an honorary place in the soundtrack of most of our youth, as it’s closely tied to one of the shows of the early 2000s: Malcolm in the Middle.
The show about the catastrophic – but all the more tightly-knit – bonds of title character Malcolm (last name unknown to both the editorial team and apparently anyone else) and his family not only perfectly captured the zeitgeist – with its humor and the way it was told and portrayed, it was downright revolutionary.
Frankie Muniz Doesn’t Remember The Show
Tragically, lead actor Frankie Muniz suffered several strokes in the years following the final episode and has forgotten most of the time spent filming. To prepare for the upcoming reunion, he had to watch the entire series multiple times just to “relive” it in some way.Because what had been announced some time ago: New episodes of Malcolm in the Middle are coming – with the original cast… mostly.
One Family Member Is Missing
While Frankie Muniz as Malcolm, Bryan “Heisenberg” Cranston as dad Hal, Jane Kaczmarek as mom Lois, Justin Tyler Berfield as Reese, and Christopher Masterson as Francis will continue the story of the nameless family, one member will be missing. Erik Per Sullivan, who played the youngest sibling Dewey, has been avoiding the spotlight for over a decade now. After 2010’s Twelve, the now 33-year-old hasn’t acted again and has only made extremely rare appearances at cast reunions or events.
A New Dewey
But fans won’t have to do without Dewey entirely. In the new episodes, Caleb Ellsworth-Clark will take over the role of Malcolm’s youngest brother.

The American actor has previously appeared in The Silencing and the Saw spin-off Spiral, and – at least visually – seems like he could be a great Dewey replacement.
Whether he can also convince in terms of acting remains to be seen when we finally get to enjoy the four newly announced episodes.
What Will The New Malcolm In The Middle Episodes Be About?
They are set to continue the story of the family 19 years after the series finale. Malcolm – now a father himself – reunites with his siblings and parents when they want to celebrate their 40th anniversary. That this will end in absolute chaos, like every classic Malcolm in the Middle episode – that much is clear.
What do you think about the continuation of the series? What’s your favorite episode, and do you believe Caleb Ellsworth-Clark will make a good Dewey?
