The live–action reboot of Masters of the Universe has been a highly anticipated project for fans of the franchise. Here's everything we know so far.
Plot Overview
The story follows Prince Adam, who crash lands on Earth at the age of ten, losing his connection to the magical Power Sword. Twenty years later, he returns to his home planet, Eternia, to reclaim the sword and defeat the villainous Skeletor. While the plot reimagines the original tale, it keeps the essence of the 1980s series, combining action, magic, and personal growth.

Cast & Characters
Nicholas Galitzine takes on the role of Prince Adam aka He–Man, having undergone a significant physical transformation for the part. Jared Leto stars as the villainous Skeletor andCamila Mendes, known for Riverdale, plays the warrior Teela, while Alison Brie portrays Evil–Lyn. Idris Elba is set to play Man–at–Arms, and Morena Baccarin takes on the role of The Sorceress.

Additionally, the cast includes Sam C. Wilson as Trap Jaw, Kojo Attah as Tri–Klops, Hafthor Bjornsson as Goat Man, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson as Fisto, Sasheer Zamata as Suzie, James Purefoy as King Randor, and Charlotte Riley as Queen Marlena.
Production & Release
Filming for Masters of the Universe began on January 6, 2025, in London and wrapped on June 15, 2025. The film has a budget of $200 millio and the script was written by Chris Butler, with earlier drafts by David Callaham and the Nee brothers. Masters of the Universe is scheduled for a theatrical release on June 5, 2026, and will later be available for streaming on Prime Video.
