Logan Paul is no stranger to controversy – whether as a YouTuber, boxer, or entrepreneur, he always finds a way to make headlines. Now, he's stirring things up again by attempting to settle a dispute with football legend Lionel Messi in an unconventional way. Instead of focusing on the ongoing legal battle, Paul has challenged Messi to a boxing match. What led to this unexpected challenge, and how did the feud even begin? Here’s everything you need to know about the newest social media beef.

Who Sued Whom?

Let’s get this straight. Logan Paul and KSI created the energy drink Prime in early 2022, generating massive hype by partnering with FC Bayern, the Los Angeles Lakers, and the Dodgers. Now, Messi wants to jump on the energy drink hype train and launched his own drink, Mas+, in June 2024.

The problem is that Messi's drink looks strikingly similar to Paul's drink, as many people have already pointed out on social media. Missing out on easy hype because a YouTuber is stopping your sales? There's no denying it now – Messi has bottled it again.

Mas+ claims that Prime contacted them, demanding they stop selling Mas+ until they change their design. That's why Mas+ is now suing Prime, believing this is anti-competitive. Paul, in a TikTok video, explains that he should be the one suing Messi, claiming he stole his design, while showing a bunch of legal documents in the background. So, unlike in Han Solo's case, here it's obvious – Messi sued first.

Boxing Match or Courtroom Drama?

Paul doesn't speak Spanish, and Messi doesn't speak English, so how about the language of violence? He has now offered Messi the chance to step into the history of famous people who have already fought against him, including Floyd Mayweather. Maybe Messi prefers the courtroom instead of the sparring ring, since he's about 7 inches shorter, weighs 66 pounds less, and is literally at the end of his career.

Logan Paul's Prime has faced multiple lawsuits, including a $68 million claim from Refresco Beverages for breaching a 2023 contract over unmet purchase volumes. Additionally, the US Olympic and Paralympic Committee is suing Prime for trademark infringement, accusing the brand of using Olympic phrases and symbols without permission on a special edition featuring Kevin Durant.

We can already hear the tune: He fights his competitor, and he fights celebs. It's a problem no one understands...
