Avatar Season 2 has been confirmed, and will be released on Netflix sometime over the next couple of years. This is unsurprising given the first season (which premiered at the end of February) was so successful.

But it is somewhat surprising that the show turned out as good as it did, with Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko replaced as showrunners by Albert Kim.

Now, we're hearing that the show will undergo another such change for Seasons 2 and 3. Co-executive producers Christine Boylan and exec producer Jabbar Raisani will take over as the new showrunners. However, this time, the old showrunner will continue to be involved as an exec producer, rather than leaving the production altogether.

Avatar Season 2: The New Showrunners

Christine Boylan and Jabbar Raisani aren't the most famous faces in Hollywood. But, they already have a significant body of work under their belts.

Christine Boylan is known for producing titles such as Once Upon a Time, The Punisher, Poker Face, and Citadel. She has successfully completed the WGA Showrunner Training Program and received a nomination for the Writers Guild of America Award for Poker Face. Additionally, she has authored comics for Marvel and DC.

Jabbar Raisani has so far worked mainly as a visual effects supervisor, most famously for Game of Thrones and Stranger Things. But he was actively involved in the first season as an executive producer, and he even directed episodes 3 and 4.

After the thrilling and suspenseful finale of the first season, we're already excited for season 2!
