Marty Supreme's Plot

Inspired by the life of real ping-pong legend Marty Reisman, Marty Supreme tells a fictional story set in 1950s New York City.

The movie follows Marty Mauser (played by Timothée Chalamet), a young salesman working in his uncle’s modest shoe store. But beneath the surface, Marty dreams of fame and recognition, as he wants to become a professional ping-pong player.

Marty is not only passionate but also talented and aspires to become world champion. Despite skepticism from those around him, he refuses to give up. His journey takes him into the gritty world of underground ping-pong hustling, where he plays for money and reputation in dimly lit arcades.

As Marty fights his way up the ranks, he must also confront family tensions and social pressure, balancing his ambition with the desire for acceptance. The movie captures his struggle, humor, and determination, showing that the road to success is rarely straightforward.
