Unhinged Pokopia - Fans Are Losing It Over The Dialogue (In More Than One Way)

Pokémon Pokopia lets Pokémon talk – and they are surprisingly unhinged.

Pokopia was released on March 5, 2026 and is a life-sim that lets you play as a Ditto disguised as a human rebuilding a ruined Kanto. In this game, you can actually talk to Pokémon. Now, fans have started posting the funniest and most unhinged sentences the creatures have said.

From Cute Ramblings to Fever Dreams

For a long time now, the life-sim genre was dominated by Animal Crossing. While the dialogue in this game can be funny in a cute way sometimes, it is very tame and a little repetitive.

Quite different in Nintendo's new entry. Pokopia now lets you finally talk to and understand Pokémon! Instead of just saying their own name over and over, they hold actual conversations and have distinct voices and characters. So now, we can finally know what Pokémon even talk about. Usually, they're really cute and nice. Sometimes though, they surprise you with their silly, funny or creepy and sad statements.

From a gym-bro Charizard bragging about benching Snorlax to a Bulbasaur telling you to "get moist", the dialogue sometimes feels like a fever dream you have to read twice to confirm it's real.

Say What Now?

Fans have not stopped laughing about the unhinged things the Pocketmonsters keep dropping. Some of the best examples have been shared online.

One big surprise was Kyogre, a demigod-like Pokemon that made the ocean and can control the rain. So what does a godlike creature like that sound like? Turns out, it sounds like a southern farmer tending to his cornfields.

Heracross and Pinsir seem to have a kind of rivalry going on regarding their horns. They can not stop arguing about which of their horns is better and if having one horn or two horns is superior.

I already had enough reasons to love this game but today I got to be a bystander of a physical altercation.

Volbeat has a different kind of interest... It is interested in your butt. It is very happy with their own butt, so much so that it asks you to please look at it, but it is also very curious on what your butt might look like.

Please, not in front of Squirtle, Volbeat...

The funniest thing, in my opinion though, is Magikarp greeting you with a dry "Yo, where am I !?!" The Pokémon has a kind of surfer-dude-like personality that peaks in wanting to show you his moves, yo.

Another great part about the dialogue in this game is how it switches from this chaotic, fun, aloof vibe to surprisingly sad stories, like Cubone's. You can find him near a grave, where he keeps thinking about his mom.

You can also make any Pokémon your roommate, which makes them sleep in the same bed as you. Some players have used this mechanic to make one particular Monster their nightly neighbor:

With such funny, surprising, but also deep and sad dialogue, the game keeps us on our toes, never knowing what to expect. We can be very excited about what else it might have in store for us.
